Vogel het uit! is a citizen science project that allows the public to join scientists in answering unresolved questions related to the daily life of birds. For this purpose the team developed a special app for smartphone users. ‘It allows users to observe the fascinating lives of birds from a completely new perspective; a fascination which we want to share with people in order to get them involved in our research,’ explains team captain Dr Judy Shamoun-Baranes.
Festive launch of the app
The app will be launched during a festive event in science centre NEMO on Wednesday 14 May, 16.30 Prof. Willem Bouten will give a lecture on bird studies and Vogel het uit!, while Dr Judy Shamoun-Baranes will host a special activity for children. Children age 8-12 are therefore warmly welcomed to join the event. After the launch of the app there is time for a drink and visitors of the event will be one of the first to use the Vogel het uit! app. View the full programme and sign up via the button below.
