I am a PhD student based at The Open University (OU) supervised by William Gosling at the University of Amsterdam.
My PhD is part of the NERC funded project, '500,000 years of solar irradiance, climate and vegetation changes'. I am looking at modern pollen-vegetation relationships in Ghana, using pollen traps to characterise pollen output from different vegetation types such as savannah and seasonally dry tropical forest. This work will aid in the interpretation of the long term pollen record data from Lake Bosumtwi. I will also be partaking in outreach activities and undertaking fieldwork in Ghana on both 2013 and 2014 to collect and replace pollen traps.
