I am working as a postdoc/researcher at Wageningen Marine Research (WMR). My postdoc project is a colloboration between WMR, the Institute of Biology Leiden, and the Department of Theoretical and Computational Ecology of the University of Amsterdam. The project considers the population level effects of sound disturbance by seismic surveys on North Sea cod (PCAD4COD).
Areas of interest are...
Life's complexity and diversity, food web dynamics , population dynamics and species interactions. In addition, I am very fond of marine systems and in particular, benthic marine invertebrates, copepods and fish.
I spend the last year in Copenhagen as a postdoc at The Centre for Ocean Life, working on the role of large zooplankton (copepods) in planktonic foodwebs. My PhD-thesis, under supervision of André de Roos, focussed on developing theory regarding the effect of seasonality on size-structured population dynamics and predator-prey dynamics. Before that, I did a Master of Science in Limnology and Oceanography at the University of Amsterdam. During my Master, I spent two years in Australia at the Marine Ecology group at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
