Amsterdam Water Science
Joint programme UvA and VU
The Amsterdam Water Science (AWS) and Global Ecology (GE) symposium will be an international meeting dedicated to the presentation and discussion of a new collaboration programme between the research groups in aquatic sciences of the University of Amsterdam and the VU Amsterdam aiming to involve both international and Dutch researchers and stakeholders.
This two days symposium will be held on 25 November 2015 at the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen (KIT), Amsterdam and on 26 November at Amsterdam Science Park.
On 25 and 26 November2015, the programme will be officially launched together with international speakers and with stakeholders:
- November 25 will held a scientific symposium with international speakers. The current water research at VU and UvA will be presented and discussed together with the international guests and will be mainly about the new scientific questions on water area.
- November 26 symposium is entirely dedicated to the users. The day aims to create a sustainable platform for water management, together with users, researchers and students. The users are the central key to the research questions and the UvA and VU will tailor its research on this. The main themes are: algae growth; water quality and drinking water; spatial planning and climate extremes; water governance; economy & finance water management.
