I am interested in how evolutionary processes shape the interactions between organisms and their biotic environment (e.g. competition, predation, resource foraging). I specifically focus on the role of ontogenetic development on these ecological interactions. Ontogenetic development (e.g. body size growth or metamorphosis) is an essential life history process that can considerably change the functioning of organisms. I study how evolutionary processes modify the effect of ontogenetic development on ecological interactions. Furthermore, what are the selection pressures that arise when adopting an ontogenetic perspective on ecological interactions? And how do these selection pressures affect persistence and coexistence of species in multiple species communities?
