The “European Conference of Tropical Ecology” is an annual event organised on behalf of the Society for Tropical Ecology (https://www.soctropecol.eu/). The 8^th edition of this event will be hosted by the Institute for Biodiversity & Ecosystem Dynamics in Amsterdam; the first time this meeting will be held in the Netherlands. We look forward to welcoming around 250 scientists from many countries to the city. The meeting covers all aspects of tropical ecology and hopes to promote integration of scientific disciplines through this years theme “Time for tropical ecology”.
