Special achievements of Jan Sevink

Jan Sevink will receive the Emil Luden Medal for his exceptional efforts in research into the history of the soil and landscape in the Gooi and his contributions to the protection and restoration of nature in the region. During his career he has published more than 300 scientific articles, many of which relate to the Gooi. His insights based on thorough soil research have led, among other things, to the successful remediation of soil contamination in the Laarder Wasmeer and the restoration of unique nature reserves, such as Zanderij Cruysbergen, the Gijzenveen and the Monnikenwater.

In addition, he played a key role in the development of provincial policy for the designation of geological monuments and he contributed to the development of a cycling route along 30 geological sights in the Gooi, making the geological history of the area accessible to a wide audience. .
